Today, Emerald BioStructures (formerly deCODE biostructures) and its sister organization Emerald BioSystems, announced that they have become independent and separate from deCODE genetics, Inc.
Emerald BioStructures and Emerald BioSystems have been acquired by Beryllium LLC, a Delaware Limited Liability Company. Financial details were not disclosed. Beryllium LLC and the Emerald companies are owned and financed by a group of strong investors including Gemini Investors, Kendall Square Partners, Eastern Growth Capital II, Arctaris Co-Investment Limited Partnership, and FORMA Therapeutics, Inc.
Lance Stewart, Ph.D. MBA has been named as the Chief Executive Officer of both Emerald Companies. Dr. Stewart is a founder of Emerald BioStructures and has led its operations since its inception. Management is committed to serving a global customer base with world class service that customers have come to expect from Emerald. Now as an independent company, Emerald is ready to expand its customer base and drug discovery services in the challenging field of gene-to-structure research.
